Co-op: Initial Impressions

Well, the first few days of co-op have actually gone pretty well and have been somewhat entertaining (contrary to the first few days of all my other co-op jobs). The people are all really friendly, which is definately a plus. It's nice to work closely with full time employees and actually feel like one of their peers and not "that co-op student guy".

It's also nice to get my hands dirty with HTML and Content Management software. I know most of the people who read this site have done waaaaay more with HTML than I have, but maybe I'll actually be able to hold a candle to everyone else's HTML prowess someday.

I've spent the last two days getting accustomed with a program called RedDot and using it to make a simple website that displays news articles and some other stuff (eventually). The plan is that I'll move onto trying to make Norbord's new webpage compliant with all the versions of all the internet browsers. If you try viewing it using Netscape 6.1 for example, the menu near the top goes all wonky. It has the potential for being interesting AND for being really shitty. I've got my fingers crossed for interesting.

It's also struck me how odd riding the subway is. It's sort of like riding a giant smelly death train every day. Not exactly what I'd call starting off the morning on the right foot.

I've taken some pictures, so I'll try to get those posted next week sometime. Hopefully.

Stuck in the middle with you
